#Repost thank you @forfoodsake_ldn
A lovely little dinner at a canal side pub in Bath! It was my first time visiting Bath and I couldnŌĆÖt believe how beautiful and historic it is! Going to The Roman Baths and learning about its history was amazing! We chose to eat at a pub just outside of the main city (about a 7 min drive) and it did not disappoint!! The Calamari was so crispy and well flavoured, I also ordered the burger on their menu however requested for Tandoori Chicken ...inside the burger instead of beef which the chef kindly agreed to doing for me and I had that alongside truffle fries which were ¤śŹ¤śŹ¤śŹ The setting of the pub was wonderful with the lovely canal just beside us! Would deffo recommend eating here if youŌĆÖre visiting Bath (which I also highly recommend!) ~ The Locksbrook Inn . . . #gastropub #canalside #thelocksbrookinn #bathfoodie #foodie #foodblogger #infatuation #forkyeah #londonfoodies #follow #eatlondon #londoner #londonfood #foodobsessed #eatwell #buzzfeedfood #foodiegram #lifestyleblogger #timeoutlondon #londonbylondoners #eatlondon #health #food52 #foodpassion #foodislove #forfoodsake #foodstagram #thisislondon #eeats #onthetable

Yesterday our family held my daughterŌĆÖs baby shower at The Lockbrook Inn and it was pretty good. The staff were lovely, helpful and polite. The food was very good, fresh and well cooked - thanks to the Chef. We left it in a real mess with bits all over the place but the staff were so cheerful and kind and didnŌĆÖt worry a bit. Thank you all for a good time ¤śŖ

We just popped in for a late lunch with our young family this week and had an amazing lunch and wonderful service. Absolutely could not fault anything. We were just on holiday in the area for a few days and the food and service was by far the best. We can't thank you enough Locksbrook inn. We will definitely pop by next time we are in the area.

User

Tucked away and a wonderful suprise to come across! Food and drink are great- pizzas are some of the best in Bath. Beer garden and terrace which looks over the river is a beautiful sun trap! Had the best afternoon watching the world go by, with atentive and friendly staff. Will come here again and again!

User

Nice stop after 17 mile bike ride from Yate. Really, very nice food and surroundings, perfect rest stop...then the 17 miles back again! We definately will be back

User

Just popped in with my teenage son and decided to have a quick drink and some food .

It was early evening so few people about but not too many in .

Service was very polite and friendly and we didn't wait long for our food to come .

All in all have a very pleasant meal in very nice surroundings with extremely friendly staff ’┐Į

User

Great place to stop. Fantastic food and really friendly staff

User

Friendly staff. Good drinks menu. Plenty of out side tables with umbrella's, dog friendly with several water bowls. Popular with cyclists. Good view of the canal. Will go again.

User

Friendly staff, sat in the garden with the family and ordered sandwiches and some drinks. Food was great.

User

Fantastic evening in the sunshine enjoying great food....

Very friendly atmosphere!!!

Staff were certainly under pressure but were very efficient.

Will be returning soon.

User

Absolutely love the place and the food!!! Excellent location en-route of Bristol to Bath cycling path in lovely neighbourhood of the canal. In warm season its our traditional stop during weekend bike races.

User

We attended a baby shower this week . The spread was perfect . Lovely fresh sandwiches and great tasting pizza . Staff were all lovely and friendly . I do believe charging me 1 pound for one tiny plastic cup of squash served for one child is a far too exspensive, I do believe this needs to be acknowledged as you canŌĆÖt be charging that for one squash . especially considering how much the spread cost , would have been polite to offer us a jug of squash considering that the staff could see how many children had attended ¤Æ¢¤Æ¢

Had a super Sunday lunch. Very good service. Free glass of prosecco for all the mums. Nice touch.

User

Was not impressed service was slow a ordered 2 x ┬Ż10 starters you share was served with 5 half slices of bread asked for more bread and got 2 slices 20mins later. Main was not worth the money as the potatoes were so greasy carrots parsnips and a bit of cabbage the Gravy was non exsitant

Waited 15 mins for drink refills one starter was served 5 mins after others and one main course arrived 10mins after others have been served

User

Such a shame, 10 mums called head for a coffee and bacon roll morning on Monday! No chef and very disappointed .

same again two more days this week. There is no point offering breakfast baps from 8:30 am then to be told no chef in till 10am..

The bar staff have been fantastic every time, while trying to run a sinking ship while all the captains are away!’┐Į

User

It's a great setting and the dining area opening out on to the river is lovely. The food suffers by comparison with its sister pub the Marlborough Tavern but is less pricey. It was all OK but nothing really stood out, the squid starter is nicely cooked but the batter is bland, the chicken kebabs are nice but uninspiring etc. On the positive side the wine we had was delicious and the chips are really good.

The service ranged from poor to good depending on which waitress was serving at the time. The girl who took our order seemed bored and didn't seem to know the menu.

I'd probably go again but won't be rushing and it'll be with lower expectations. Great for a pint and chips on a hot day, not so great for an evening meal.

User

I really want it to work here but our meal last night was terrible, sausages & mash with no mash, a veggie chilli dish that was dry & inedible, a pizza that was rock hard, a missing chips order. The staff were apologetic and offered free desserts but waited 20 mins for two bowls of ice-cream. Such a shame as we had family visiting for the weekend. It wasn't even very busy. Come on guys, get it sorted. We want you to do well.

User

Great overhaul of what was becomming a very tired pub. Were you a little short staffed or did you take too many bookings today? 1pm booking and didn't get served until 1.50pm, debatable whether broccoli cooked at all, although the roast was lovely it could have been a lot warmer :( Still waiting on deserts hopefully they will arrive soon.

User

Very disappointed with the food, wine and the service. I have eaten here a few times now and it's not gotten any better. They seem to run out of something every time I have been, and it has so much potential to be a great place. How can you get it so right with the Marlborough Tavern and so wrong here! Something need to drastically change!!!!

User

Sadly this was far below par food wise.

Firstly, the food serving size can only be described as a child portion, I don't expect when paying ┬Ż15/16 for a roast dinner to feel as though the main is no more the size of a starter. When we were asked if the food was ok I did point this out only to be greeted with a shrug, although the quality of the food itself was very good.

We decided, perhaps against our better judgement to order a dessert, hoping things might improve. Granted, I am not sure of the correct definition of a dark chocolate sundae but i was expecting spoonfulls of hot dark chocolate sauce over ice cream with whipped cream on top. Sadly this was no where to be seen.

We were presented with a small glass jar, layered with bland whipped cream, some kind of dark chocolate cake or brownie, an equally uninspiring layer of cream then at the bottom a caramel sauce (may of been a light chocolate sauce) but by this point I had given up.

It was not all bad, the decor is very nice and the double gin and tonic was lovely. what promised to be a lovely Sunday roast was terrible and we won't be returning.

I don't know how their sister pub; The Marlborough could get is so right two weeks before and the Locksbrook to be so poor.
