Winner of 2018!
The Weston Sand Sculpture Festival displays more than 30 sculptures and as a visitor you can give your vote to one of the 10 great sculptures in the competition zone.
So you did!
... After an amazing 13th festival we had our last day on Sunday 7th October with a special event for the visual impaired. Like every year it was a privilege to support people to get close to the sculptures and the feedback, as always, is heart-warming. With the season ending we were able to count all the orange voting tokens that you, as a visitor, get when you enter the park to vote in the competition zone.
With that now complete we can happily annonce that the Winner of the 13th edition Weston Sand Sculpture Festival 2018 is,
*Drum roll*
The‘Horror Clown’ sculpted by the very talented Jan Zelinka from the Czech Republic. You as a public weren’t afraid of this clown, who had a scary and a friendly face, and voted this as your favourite.
Congratulations Jan!
Many thanks to everyone for visiting us, we look forward to welcoming you all you next year when we open with a brand new theme on Good Friday 19th April.

The Winner of this year’s Kidz Competition is 🥁🥁🥁 RUBY with her design....Helter Sssssskelter!
... We thank everyone who voted and participated. All three designs would have made great sculptures. Congratulations to all of you.
The winning design will be turned into a giant masterpiece and can be seen from Good Friday 2019 as part of next year’s exhibition.
2nd Place is William with Circus Marriage.
3rd Place is Tilly with Fancy Dress High Wire.
Winners and runners up will be contacted to arrange collection of their prizes including free tickets and sculpting tools.

... Want to know more? For the 1st time the winning sculpture will not stand for one month in the festival but for the whole event! We have thought long and hard about it and every year it is a such a shame that it is taken down so soon after it is created. To inspire more children to make art, we think it is important that they get every chance to see the winning design. Therefore, the winner this year will have their sculpture built before the opening of the festival on Good Friday 2019. In addition the winner and their family will be invited to the opening where they can unveil it to the public and come back any time they want throughout the season. 2nd Place: 15 free entrance tickets plus a set of professional sculpting tools. 3rd Place: 10 free entrance tickets plus a set of professional sculpting tools. How about that?!
