User

Wookey hole is very well planned out. Sometimes there's a hefty que for caves but past that it's lovely. Nice cave tour, 4d cinema is great fun and the circus show. All sorts of things to look at while going round. And I like the meals in the restaurant which I think are a good price. Except the £5 kids meal which is a bit pricey for what's inside. I love that the kids can sign up to train for shows and that there is an additional cave climb to sign up to. Nice day out for all ages. I've only ever met really friendly staff.

User

We travelled to Brean for a holiday and planned on going to Cheddar Caves but a lady in Asda recommended Wookey Hole as a better adventure! Have to say, we weren't disappointed! What a fantastic little gem! Thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone! Well worth a visit 🖒🖒

User

We really enjoyed our time with you. I asked if there was an armed forces discount (which often aren't advertised) and was told it was half-price for both myself and my partner! The guide was informative and amusing. The caves are awesome in the true sense of the word and well worth a visit.

We loved the old-school feel of the place and the attractions. I fancy going back for the caving experience.

User

We had a wonderful day here today, we all found the caves fascinating although the witch was a little scary for our three year old! We loved the mirror maze, very clever and effective. The highlight though was the amazing circus show. The performers were incredibly talented and put on a lively, breathtaking display. A huge well done to them all as it must take a lot of hours of rehearsal and practise. We will definitely visit again.

User

Visited today in a group of 11, James led our tour round the caves and he was brilliant- could hear him easily and he kept our attention, with loads of information without being boring! Good signage warning of lack of loo’s etc- loads to do, all encountered staff friendly, the circus was brilliant! Your wookey witch is lovely and happily posed for pics and chatted to everyone, and your pirate was hilarious! Kids will be chatting about this for weeks! Thank you, we’ll definitely be back!!

User

Very good and something a little different. My kids Jessi 4 Jack 5 throughly enjoyed it with such things as pirate golf, Indoor play area and of course the exploring of the caves! For which we thought the guide was very good and I think we learnt a thing or two. The circus was very good and the young people involved were very professional in their work, working in amusements myself I appreciated the large collection of vintage penny arcade machines.

I think an outdoor play park would be a nice small addition maybe?

User

Took our 2 year old, he absolutely loved it. Kept darting between the Allosaurus and King Kong. He couldn't decide which he likes best. The caves were great & didn't take so long that he got bored. The guy doing the cave tour, seemed very old school & was really funny. Food was pricey for adults (£3.10 for a sausage roll), but the kids food box was £5.50 & full of treats! The lady in the gift shop was very polite and smiley.

We did 3.5 hours and it was great from start to finish! Didn't get to circus or 4D cinema this time, but will definitely be back!

User

Amazing place, we loved it!

Tour of caves was really good, the tour guide was informative, friendly and engaging.

My 2 year old son loved the dinosaur park, especially the moving dinosaurs!

The theatre was my personal favourite - the show was perfect and the young stars did an amazing job!!

We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant. There was a good range of options, clean tables and friendly staff.

There was much more to do from what I could tell and we would defo come again to spend more time when the little one is a bit older and not so easily worn out.

User

After winning competition for free tickets we took our grandsons today, we all had a great time, cave guide very good, not rushed at all.

Loved the 4D experience.

We ate in main restaurant and food was plentiful nice to have choice of new potatoes as not all of us chip fans.

Only problem we had youngest grandson dropped his jumper and 're tracing steps were unable to find it, so that upset him a bit.

All in all we had a great day.

User

Absolutely brilliant place.. Totally up my street with all the witchy woo.. Dinosaurs and history. The Wookey witch and the guy dressed as the pirate were great with the kids. Very welcoming. Where else can u get a circus. Cinema. Animatronics Dinosaurs and a cave tour all under one roof? We will definitely be returning and possible even staying on sight next time in the spooky hotel?

User

I was kinda bored during the caves bit, only because I'm deaf and couldn't understand what the guide was saying. We did put it as an request thing on the website (where we booked) and told the person at the front that I was deaf, however the message was not passed on to the guide. After talking to him at the end of the tour, he said that scripts are given to the deaf, but as he didnt get the message, he was very apologetic.

Were offered the choice to leave the pram at the top, or carry it around caves. We left it and carried the little one. It was a bit annoying having to go all the way back to the start to collect it, when baby was tired. Perhaps another way for this, maybe someone could bring them down, as I'm sure some other parents take the pram up, and change their minds, leaving the pram up top and carrying their child.

Pirate was hilarious, we had a selfie taken with him to enter the competition, i dont think he likes babies.....

Over all though, despite the little hiccup at the start, i enjoyed it.

User

First visit for over 15 years. Excellent tour of the caves, spectacular. Particularly enjoyed the circus show, very talented youngsters with a professional show. Golf was great too. The downside was the catering, very overpriced and unappitising offering. £6.50 for a cream tea, £4.25 for a packaged sandwich and £2.40 for a very weak coffee. No lunch here! We drove to Wells for a superb lunch at half the price!

Otherwise, loved the visit. Great fun.

User

A really good day out.A little disappointed with the cave tour. The groups are too big(money making exercise),so we found ourselves at the back.We couldn’t hear a word the guide said and couldn’t see what was being pointed out.Had to rely on the guide book.Staff were all really friendly and had great fun on the pirate Crazy Golf!.

User

We had our first visit to Wookey today as a family (I went years ago whilst at primary school). Our day started with the cave tour which I was really enjoying until my little girl needed a wee. Another family explained to the tour guide they needed to get out to the toilet also and this was met by an eye roll and an abrupt, unsympathetic and annoyed response. We had initially asked our daughter if she needed the toilet before we went in but we didn’t realise there was no other toilet until we came out the other side. On the way out at the end of the day we saw a sign stating that but we had not seen it and it most certainly was not clear as we arrived. The sign was on the side of the payment booth which was not in our eye line. Surely a place that is aimed at families should realise that it is likely they may get children needing the toilet during the tour. We were directed out after 10 minutes or so of a quicker exit but the tour guides reaction is what spoilt it for me.

Both my children enjoyed the dinosaurs and my daughter enjoyed the 4D film experience. The circus show was very enjoyable and was the highlight of the trip for me.

On the way out of the park we decided on ice-creams and we were served by a very unenthusiastic member of staff who looked miserable and gave the general feeling that we were an inconvenience. As we sat down my husband heard him serving a customer behind us and the customer changed their mind for something else and apologised immediately for this. The member of staff replied ‘I’m used to dealing with people that can’t make up their minds’. This is not the attitude I would expect from staff at all.

We had a pleasant day overall but what really let it down was staff attitude. We are fairly local and had been looking forward to visiting. The circus was brilliant though and very refreshing to see such young talented children who clearly enjoy what they do

User

Took the family here today it was absolutely brilliant

Children didnt get bored once and enjoyed every minute everything from the caves to the wookey witch. All the staff were friendly and helpful and our guide was very informative and explained everything clearly.

The penny arcade was lots of fun for kids.

It was abit of a shame we didnt get to see the 4d cinema show or get to do the crazy golf.

My only gripe with the whole day was the over priced restaurant which we were all looking forward to after a day of of fun

The selection of food on offer wasnt what was expected and when a sandwhich is priced at £4 plus it was abit disappointing for what you got and also the quality wasnt very good either, with warm cheese and soft biscuits in the kids meals and having to wait nearly 10 minutes for change from the cashier

The day was great and i would recommend a visit but bring a packed lunch unless you want to be left disapointed. Thats why this review didnt receive 5

User

Having visited Wookey several times in the past, I was looking forward to my visit again this year. I have taken my son before, and this time I was taking my grandsons. The adventure gold was a brilliant addition, as it was not there the last time that I visited. our tour guide was Michael, he was very knowledgeable and friendly and took his time to explain to my grandsons about the caves. However, I had asked friends to join us from Weymouth, and we all were bitterly disappointed in the cafe, which we had been advised would be open until 4.30pm We went on the 2 pm tour, and reached the cafe at about 3.50pm to find that it was almost closed. There was a limited selection of sandwiches and cakes available, but the staff on hand were extremely rude and made us feel as if we had interrupted their day. We gulped our sandwiches down, and as we were ushered out of the cafe, the doors shut closed behind us. We had traveled from Northern Ireland for our holiday, and I understand that the Northern Irish school holidays begin before the English ones, but really felt that such a big English attraction would have better catering facilities.

User

Visited yesterday, with 3 grandchildren.

A Sunday. Ticket office closed, so long queues in the ice cream shop to get tickets.

Caves were good, but the guide couldn’t wait to get through the tour. Very rushed.

The new animatronic dinosaurs were a hit with the kids.

The Dino Dig is for children, so make it lower so they can reach. Having carried a 3 year old round the caves I didn’t want to have to hold him up so he could 'dig' for bones.

Very poor food choices, with only one restaurant actually open.

Generally disappointing visit all round.

User

Caves were interesting however the rest is very plain and boring I wouldn’t say worth the 70+ we paid we Entered at 10:30 and left at 2 after seeing everything I don’t think it would of been so bad if they monitored the guests allowed in.. cause it was very over crowded climbing over other people to get to anywhere and no room for the kids to go in the play area

User

It was terrible, had to wait over an hour for a tour and not even told that it would be that long, the guide kept getting annoyed when my little girl got a bit scared, the guid cease so unhelpful. It cost over £70 for us to get in.

The staff need to have more training in customer service and there needs to be more information about the caves, such as who it is suitable for, definitely not the very young or very old and anyone that is pregnant as you have to near enough get on your hands and knees to get round the caves. There is no lightning as you go down very steep steps they say it’s not slippery but it very very slippery as a lady in our group fell over. No accident book was filled in and no help was given. I THINK ITS TERRIBLE!! What a very poor place to visit it’s safe to say I would not recommend it to anyone!!!! 1 star is giving it to much !!! The 4D cinema was not working the day was just getting better and better!!!! Utter rubbish!!!

Great fun.
