York Place Films Description
Matt and Alex turned their combined passions for film, video and photography into a business in 2011. Realising that their creative ideals aligned perfectly with Dominique and Liam’s they moved into York Place Studios in 2012 and formed sister company York Place Films.
Whilst heavily influenced by cinematic and documentary techniques, their style of cinematography is founded in the principles of still photography; primarily using digital SLR cameras and prime photographic lenses to allow them to work unobtrusively and make use of natural light wherever possible.
Matt’s rich background as a theatrical lighting and sound designer helps him to make the best use of available light and ensure that they produce and compose top quality sound to accompany the images on screen. Alex’s creative approach to editing provides a unique style, designed to accentuate the images captured in camera and tell the story in an innovative and engrossing manner. Together they aspire to make stunning cinematography and beautiful story-telling motion pictures in their own creative and artistic style.
