St Francis Animal Welfare Description

St Francis Animal Welfare is a registered charity (263172) which was first established in 1953 and is now based at Sunnyside Cottage, Mortimer's Lane in Fair Oak, near Southampton.

We provide shelter and care for many animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, ferrets and many other small mammals.

We aim to rehabilitate and rehome as many animals as we can but have many long term residents including several cats, four goats, two pigs, a pony, a donkey and many chickens.

If you are interested in adopting a rescue animal please pop into the shelter and fill out a registration form during our opening hours.

We always need hardworking volunteers to help with the animals and to help fundraise. If this is something you may be interested in please do contact us.

If you have any items you could donate, we would be extremely grateful.
... Items can be dropped in to the shelter on Mortimers Lane in Fair Oak, any time or day between 11am-3pm. (Donations can also be dropped off to one of our volunteers homes (Dawn Bishop-Taylor) at Spring Road in Bitterne - please message her on Facebook for full address)

HELPERS WANTED!!
We are desperate for volunteers to help at our Summer Fun Day and Dog Show on the 18th August 2019, at Highbridge Farm, Highbridge Road near Eastleigh, both on the day and the day before and after to help set up and pack away... The event is to raise funds for St Francis Animal Welfare.
Jobs on the day will include - Helping on the BBQ's (both on the vegan BBQ and then the separate free-range meat BBQ) car-parking attendants, litter-pickers, people to refill ...dog water bowls and paddling pools, assisting on stalls - including various tombolas, kids games, good as new and various food stalls, someone to walk around selling balloons (we will provide them!) people to walk around with collection pots, dog show helpers and probably lots more jobs we haven't thought of yet!
Before and after the event we will need help putting up and taking down gazebos, putting up signs directing visitors to the event (and taking them down again!) and also setting up and packing away stalls.... and again, probably more jobs we haven't thought of yet!
We also would be grateful if our supporters could distribute some of our posters and leaflets throughout their places of work, local area etc - the more people who see our event, then the more successful it will be! We are also needing raffle prizes and tombola prizes for this event, so if anyone has anything they could donate, that would be fantastic.
All help would be gratefully received! If you would like to volunteer to help at this event, please email our Event Coordinator Lorraine on sfawevents@hotmail.com
