Great to take your kids for swim. Plenty of parking for free. Cheap with the beez card.

This place is okay. The equipment in the gym is good, the staff in the gym section are friendly and helpfull. The pool area & sauna etc are good.

The price is reasonable. Why is there always ONE member of staff on the reception area during busy afternoons!??

The staff on reception aren't very attentive and seem completely disinterested in helping you! And are NOT in any rush whatsoever to serve you. Especially if you only require your 'car parking ticket' to be validated by them. (Which takes about 20 seconds to stamp!)
If they are helping someone fill out a LONG application form for a Beez card (for an example) they will not acknowledge you waiting there with your Car ticket!

I have had to politely interrupt on occasion, just so I wasn't late getting to my place of employment on time.

Overall good facilities, but the reception staff need some serious training on customer service.

I am no longer a member of this gym now.

Thank you so much to the fantastic Manager at the gym for her fast response to my son's stolen phone. CCTV checked super quick and phone recovered by police. Very much appreciated and I'm sure the person involved will think twice before doing it again!

I've been a member here for the past year; I joined this branch as it is wheelchair accessible.
They have a large variety of machines and equipment. I can't use all the machines but there are a lot that I can use.
They have a lift to take you to the gym level but there have been a few occasions when the lift hasn't worked and I haven't been able to use the gum.
The staff is friendly and helpful and very encouraging during 1 to 1 training sessions.

I went to the leisure centre with my mum who is disabled and unfortunately the pod wasn't working but the staff were all great and helped out in every way, they had to go get the old hoist but nothing was too much trouble for them and the whole experience was fantastic! Will definitely be going back

I have Trained at Blackburn Leisure since it opened it has top notch facilities and equipment and staff but does get very busy. Could do with some more calisthenics type training options. Its a shame there isn't a cafe or restaurant on site.

Great facilities and thoroughly reconned a visit here. Cheap entrance fee and two great slides. Also have large floats out for all to play on. Section cordoned off for anyone wanting to swim lengths. Really nice family changing rooms with free hairdryers. Free parking at weekends on the college campus.

Can't comment on the gym as I've not been.

The building looks fab and it's a nice clean space to be. The changing facilities are great. Nice and clean and plenty of room to change and big lockers for all your stuff. Especially good when u have kids. Also the fab thing was they have a place to lock up prams! Which is great when u have a baby u want to take swimming. The kids pool was luvly and warm and the activity bit for the kids was really good. It was just a shame my daughter cried the whole time! Which it the only gripe I have about the place...u take pretty expensive when I went with my 2 year old who basically cried from the minute she seen the water. So I was entirely best please. I think if they had better offer for mother and baby then I couldn't falter the place.

Awful...queued for 15 minutes...1 receptionist trying to deal with a large group of kids whilst a "manager" (Karen?) busied herself tidying the same pile of paper half a dozen times.
Pool looked quiet but we were told no more admissions when we got to front of queue. "It's the law " apparently.
"Manager" disappeared into a back office at this point. Asked to speak to her and was told we couldn't use the pool as they had given out all the wristbands for the day and they wouldn't be letting any more people in until half an hour before the pool closed. All the while other people were leaving with swimming bags. Supposedly they might have been doing Judo though so it wasn't possible to operate "1 in 1 out system". I've never tried Judo but it must be very much like swimming if you need speedos, goggles and exposure to heavily chlorinated water to take part....

Got the feeling they wanted rid of us at this point....fair enough I suppose....our kids were crying quite loudly and making a mess of the floor with their tears.

Could the manager not have seen this coming though? Would it have been too much to ask for someone to realise there were too many people in the queue for the number of wristbands legally permitted under the Killjoy Act (1984)
I did ask but was told she was "not a receptionist "....not much of a manager either.

What a waste of time.....sort it out someone! Nothing on your website about these ridiculous policies.

Thankfully Pendle Wavelengths has longer opening hours and seems to actively encourage families to use their facilities (the crazy irresponsible fools!)

Car parking is free on a Sunday or after 4.30pm. Most of the staff are great. The kids party room for 20 is small with no character. (A very large room is available upstairs) But it does have dimmable lights (figured out after a while - not your standard dimmer switch) and a party sparkle light. Also the use of a fridge, sink, hot & cold water. Feel free to decorate the room and use the amplifier, but dont forget to take your own mp3 player or mobile device to use with it. Its got phono or 3.5 jack to a mobile/device or memory card/usb support. We where left to our own devices and not bothered during the pool party or food afterwards. For the price its very reasonable. One of the lowest ive paid over the years.

Currently waiting in the queue no1 but still waiting now gone to no2 how strange ,poor customer service doesn't know what its doing.

Decent pool better than the old one though it could do with some heating as the weather declines!
Waves was never this cold? 😱
