Doesn't open till 7 which is shocking if you want a morning session. No temperature control on showers, hot or nothing.. pretty much all of the dumbells or loose and dangerous, changing room floors are always filthy. At least when it was LA fitness they cared, sports direct as a company seems shocking..

Too small to be fully useful at peak times, be careful of their cancellation bull****, 6 months cancellation notice is required. So think waaaaaaayyyyyyy in advance if you want to cancel

They turn up the temperature on the pool and steam room when it's free membership time and soon turn it down when the offer ends. The changing rooms received a clean up a year ago but the dated badly designed furniture, sinks and tiles have not changed in 10 years making the cleaners best efforts futile and the showers have no temperature change option so if you fancy a cold shower after a run tough. The Jacuzzi doesn't work properly so they changed the settings to try and fool you. This gym needs to look after its members better. Pros: It's on my way to work, it has a good selection of gym equipment and has a pool.

I have been a member of this Gym for nearly four years, although I believe that standards have fallen considerably since Sports Direct have taken over. The level of cleanliness, time in which it takes to repair equipment and internal communication all could be much better. As a result I have given 6 months notice to terminate contract but received no acknowledgement. I have subsequently emailed seeking confirmation re date/final payment, still no response. Effective communication and administration appears to be poor. I am now seeking an alternative Gym.

I joined online , filling in my bank details , went along to the gym - met staff , got a tour of the gym & my card , no problems , very helpful & friendly . The direct debit was supposed to go out of my account on the beginning of December , it went out but then went back in again . 2 days later I received an email from sports direct stating that there was a technical error their end and the money had not gone out but they would try again in a couple of days . I then received another email a few days later , which had a very different tone about it , saying that I did not have sufficient funds in my account & it had been suspended - I would have to pay a £20 admin fee on top of the monthly payment to reinstate the account . I sent them an email explaining that I had done nothing wrong & it was apparently a technical error their end & I objected to paying the admin fee , but got an identical reply just saying that the account would remain suspended until I paid the admin fee. I refuse to do this out of principal as there was nothing wrong with my account - or direct debit set up & why should I pay £20 for someone's mistake at their end or a technical error . I have heard nothing since & my account is still suspended which is a shame as I liked the gym - but I am going to have to join a different one by the looks of it
