Great. Good value. No tie in. Perfect.
Not really a gym but more of a venue for the sleazy, steroid abusing PT's to practice picking up girls. It is quite cringeworthy really and makes everyone feel uncomfortable. The problem is there is actually no manager there so these self employed PT's just act like hormonal teenagers. Its totally unprofessional and inappropriate. Besides this issue, the place has really gone downhill generally. Over the summer, the gym was empty most of the time and I think they were making a loss so they basically reduced their rental overheads by getting rid of a lot of machines, and then had a bit of a repaint and claimed its a big renovation. Lots of regulars have disappeared.
Cheap , but the new refit has really woken the place up. Great layout good atmosphere.
Awsome gym so much bettet than some of the more expensive ones !!
24 hour access makes The Gym ideal for me with business. The equipment is all new. Everything is kept clean and overall a good gym to be a part of. I would not class this as a members driven gym in terms of community or a club as such but more of a modern, futuristic, time driven gym which is excellent value for money and ideal for busy people.
Nice workout place.. 24hour facility is very good.
Has what you need to get fit. PT's are helpful but the price means the place is packed from 8-11 and 4-8.
Just cancelled my membership after a year, its a good gym reasonably well equipped now that they've made the weights area larger. It's clean with friendly staff and the 24 hour opening is handy for the times when you just can't sleep!
Bad points are weights are pretty much never put back by users and strewn across the floor, in my view too many memberships are given out and at times there are more people than equipment, I've taken one look inside and just turned round and gone home on occasion. Due to over population can be constantly disturbed whilst working out with the age old question "You got much longer on there, mate?" I can understand doing classes but due to lack of space, when they are on mat space is pretty non existent and its difficult to get to the equipment through the class taking place.
The only thing that convinced me to stay in the first place was the free parking arrangement that the gym had with the NCP over the bingo hall. Alas, this was also the reason I quit as the limited amount of tickets meant they'd run out and you'd be stuck with a £5+ bill to get out as you never know whether there'll be tickets there or not. I'd rather give my money to another gym and be assured that I can just park there.
Overall, cheap and cheerful and if I lived closer probably would have stayed on.
Good gym, excellent for the price, but lacking in quality free weights and power lifting equipment, especially at peak times
