The Spa At Beckenham

As a mother of a young baby I'm pleased with selection of classes at the spa. There is baby boogie, postnatal workout, mom and baby yoga, family splash time in the pool, baby swimming classes, soft play, Cafe with good children menu, and crèche. There are other nice classes for everyone as well. Their computer system fails quite a lot, sometimes it's difficult to book classes.

Use it for swimming with my 2 boys (10 and 6) and can't really knock it. Does what it says on the packet.
Facilities are not too bad. The vending machines and other food/drink prices are a little high though.

Depending on the moment of the day when you go it call be really quiet or super busy. In my opinion the swimming pools, the showers and the changing rooms are really dirty and full of mold. I hope they get rid of the mold very soon because the building itself and the features are good

Nice place with lots to do. Would recommend although some parts of it are old (but still kept clean and presentable)

I swim there frequently and the pool is great. The lockers are frequently rubbish and i often have to try out a few first to find out that is either not dirty or secure enough. The loos are often in a state, but that's down to the public. Staff are fine.

I have been attending this gym since last August. It is the only gym I have ever been to and I love it. The changing rooms are clean and tidy and the gym is also clean and well staffed. I started at the gym with the "my goal" program which consisted of 4 sessions over about 6- 8 weeks. Session 1; a personal trainer helped me set a realistic target, I was shown how to use the cardio and resistance machines, and I had my personal data logged such as weight, height, blood pressure, etc. Session 2; my instructor showed me more gym equipment and workout routines. Session 3; a vigorous workout with my instructor using some new cardio machines. Session 2; review, target achieved and new target set. I highly recommend my time active and the my goal.

Take my kids to swimming lessons here and the staff are great. My kids have progressed well and it has a very comfortable family atmosphere. Not great for teenagers wanting to have pool fun but perfect for those wanting to build fitness in the pool.

My only issue is gaining access is always an issue when attending swimming lessons. They don't give a entrance card for those partaking in lessons so you kind of have to slip in quickly to access the changing rooms, which is never nice and you tend to see a group of parents there all attempting the same thing.

Never used other facilities there to have an opinion

The best thing about Beckenham spa and the sole reason I go there is for the range of classes! You are never without a class to go to, the best days are the weekdays and you can easily fill a morning with a selection!

First time here lots going on would recommend a visit plenty of car spaces staff very good and helpful

The gym is super hot, making you sweat before you even begin your workout. It also seems rather old fashioned to still be using pound coins for the lockers in the changing rooms, am I using a trolley at a supermarket? No.

Friendly young guy at desk. Pool ok , dirt / mould in the grouting between the tiles of the floor , as well people's old plasters! The digital clock is nice. Plenty of over competitive swimmers - many middle aged men, especially if you choose the fast lane. Many of these don't have the form to match the ego and flake out after the the first few laps . It's pretty entertaining , these tend to flip over onto their backs and kick furiously to give the impression of speed! I think I'll stick to my regular pool.
