Darke Cycles Description
Darke Cycles was established in September 1982 in Fullwell, Sunderland during the BMX boom. The store was extremely popular and after only one year, we moved to larger premises. In 1989, we were asked by Raleigh to move to the Town Centre and since then we have experienced rapid growth. We moved three more times within Sunderland Town Centre, as the town made way for a new Cinema Complex and Bowling Alley, and have now been at our current location at 1 John St, Sunderland for more than 7 years.
Since day one, our aim was to establish a good customer base for bikes, repairs, cycle hire and part exchange. We stock all of the biggest brands including Cannondale, Raleigh, Diamond Back , Charge, GT, WeThePeople, Mongoose, Stunt Scooters. We repair any bike brand and offer custom wheel building!

Took my 1976 Orange Raleigh Meteor Race bike in to get my front wheel and spokes trued after a few potholes too far... £10 for both tightening of spokes and straightened wheel. Cheap cheerful service and quick pick up after a few hours. I would have did this repair myself but didn't have the tooling to do so... Thanks again for keeping my bike rolling
